We have an extensive on-the-ground presence in Costa Rica through our exclusive partnership with the CRUSA Foundation, one of Costa Rica’s largest and most trusted private foundations. Together, we have a combined staff of 20+ in Costa Rica and 12 years of experience funding over 400 of the most successful projects in the country. Maria Antonieta Rodil
Development Coordinator
Prior to joining us on October 2009, Maria Antonieta served as Minister Counselor for Cultural, Educational and Tourism Affairs at the Embassy of Costa Rica in Washington, DC. In that capacity, she was responsible for a broad array of activities, events and outreach in the United States to promote Costa Rica. She also served at the Embassy as Counselor for Tourism and Assistant to the Trade Officer. She also worked in Costa Rica on a number of projects related to Migration and Development issues. Maria Antonieta holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Innovation Management from the Universities Carlos III de Madrid, Autonoma de Barcelona and Alicante, and a degree in International Relations from the National University of Costa Rica. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.

Michelle Coffey
Director of Strategic Partnerships
A Costa Rican national with a Law degree from the University of Costa Rica, Michelle has extensive experience organizing service groups to improve interactions between private citizens, corporate citizens, and government institutions for increased governance capacity as well as general public-private sector relations. Michelle is the primary point person for Amigos of Costa Rica in San José, and is responsible for all aspects of strategic partnership development, project development and oversight. Michelle is fluent in English and Spanish.
Miguel Fuentes
Senior Program Officer, CRUSA Foundation
Miguel is a Costa Rican with a Master’s degree in Administration of International Cooperation from the National University of Costa Rica. He has experience in project development and evaluation in the areas of Science and Technology, Environment, and Education and has worked as a Program Officer for the CRUSA Foundation for the past 8 years. Miguel is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dimas Madriz
Development Officer
Born in Costa Rica, Dimas Madriz joined us as Development Officer in August 2009. He has worked in the Resource Development area for 9 years. An entrepreneur, Dimas created ConsulSolutions S.A., a business offering consultancy services in fundraising, business plans, project design, monitoring and evaluation. Coming from an artistic academic background, (Ph.D. and a Master´s degree in Arts Administration from Florida State University and Bachelor´s degree from California State University at L.A.), Dimas has developed his professional life in the fields of Administration and Fundraising.
