FINCA Costa Rica is a private foundation established in 1984 to support and improve the quality of life of the country’s rural populations and underserved poor. The organization promotes sustainable development by working with community members to establish grassroots microfinance organizations known as Community Credit Enterprises (CCEs). Through its support and training, FINCA Costa Rica inspires community ownership, promotes entrepreneurial spirit and creates self-sustaining business environments in the over 200 communities in which it works.
