This program, which aims to “provide children and young people with the necessary information and tools necessary to lead a productive and healthy life, free from drugs and violence,” began in Costa Rica more than 15 years ago. Since that time, the DARE Program has enjoyed the full support of the Costa Rica Government, which declared it to be of public interest.
Aware of the program’s importance and the DARE Foundation’s budgetary constraints, CRUSA provided continuous support to its activities for 8 years, facilitating the participation of more than 676,000 children and young people during that period.
