In the southwestern part of Costa Rica, in the Diquís Delta (potential UNESCO World Herritage site), there are extensive and complex pre-Columbian archaeological sites that have only recently been uncovered. A local Agricultural Cooperative, the National Museum, Amigos of Costa Rica and the CRUSA Foundation have teamed up to safeguard this valuable heritage while seeking to promote sustainable tourism to these sites for visitors to the Osa Peninsula.
