Connecting Nosara through culture, community, and conservation.

About

Asociación ConoSer Para la Preservación Cultural de Nosara is a community organization founded in 2018 to bridge social divides, preserve Guanacaste culture, and promote environmental conservation in Nosara. Through cultural immersion experiences, community projects, and local research, ConoSer creates opportunities for residents and visitors to connect more deeply with the region and one another. Its initiatives range from the Nosara Census and cultural events to experiences rooted in local traditions, while its long-term vision includes creating a community center in downtown Nosara.

Programs

Nosara Census

Collects and publishes community data to better understand Nosara’s population, housing, health, education, water, employment, and security.

Cultural Experiences

Preserves and shares local traditions through immersive experiences including Día de Campo, Cafecito, and traditional cooking classes.

Community Development

Mobilizes resources and local participation through community events and initiatives, including plans for a community center in downtown Nosara.

Current Need

Turning local knowledge into stronger community resources is ConoSer’s immediate priority. The organization aims to raise approximately $30,000 to complete Phase 2 of the Nosara Census, while beginning efforts to develop a community center in downtown Nosara. Donations can directly support both initiatives, and ConoSer is also seeking board members with expertise in fundraising, social media, and website development to help strengthen its capacity and long-term community impact.

Growing Stronger Every Year

We’re proud to participate in Amigos of Costa Rica’s Transparency Badge System, which evaluates organizations across three key areas: financial stewardship, governance, and community impact.

Organizations are recognized at four levels of growth: Seed, Sprout, Sapling, and Tree, helping donors better understand each organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The badges displayed below reflect our current achievements and our ongoing commitment to strengthening our organization and maximizing our impact.
