About
The Costa Rica Association of Fly Fishing (CRAFF) is dedicated to promoting fly fishing as an environmentally responsible sport while fostering conservation awareness among future generations. Founded in 2015, the organization brings together volunteers who educate young people across Costa Rica about fly fishing, species conservation, and the importance of protecting natural ecosystems. Through hands-on learning experiences and community outreach, CRAFF helps build confidence, encourage outdoor recreation, and inspire environmental stewardship. Guided by its motto, “El Pez es Mi Amigo”, the organization is helping shape a new generation of responsible anglers and conservation advocates.

Current Need
CRAFF is working to expand its youth education programs and strengthen conservation awareness efforts throughout Costa Rica. Current priorities include enhancing fly fishing clinics, providing complete fly fishing kits to participating children, and expanding conservation campaigns that promote catch-and-release practices and species protection. Support also helps increase the distribution of educational materials focused on the conservation of key species such as tarpon, ensuring more young people develop a lifelong connection to nature and environmental stewardship.
