Current Need

ASEPALECO is working to expand conservation efforts across the Nicoya Peninsula through strategic land acquisition, environmental education, and community preparedness initiatives. In 2026, the organization aims to protect an additional 710 hectares of forest, engage 150 participants through environmental education camps, strengthen local wildfire prevention efforts by training 22 new volunteer brigadistas, and expand volunteer participation within the Karen Mogensen Reserve. Continued support helps safeguard critical ecosystems while building local capacity for long-term conservation.

Growing Stronger Every Year

We’re proud to participate in Amigos of Costa Rica’s Transparency Badge System, which evaluates organizations across three key areas: financial stewardship, governance, and community impact.

Organizations are recognized at four levels of growth: Seed, Sprout, Sapling, and Tree, helping donors better understand each organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
