Helping young people face cancer with support, dignity, and hope.

About

Proyecto Daniel is a Costa Rican nonprofit founded in 2010 to improve the quality of life of adolescents and young adults ages 13 to 25 with cancer. Inspired by Daniel Arce Bobadilla’s vision, the organization provides emotional, educational, recreational, and practical support to patients and their families throughout the cancer journey. Proyecto Daniel also raises awareness about the unique needs of young people with cancer and has helped create specialized hospital spaces designed to provide more appropriate, youth-centered care.

Current Need

Ensuring that no young person in Costa Rica faces cancer alone is at the heart of Proyecto Daniel’s next stage of work. Over the coming year, the organization aims to expand and strengthen psychosocial, educational, and practical support for patients ages 13 to 25 and their families. Donations, volunteers, corporate partnerships, and greater awareness of adolescent and young adult cancer can help extend this network of care and bring support, opportunity, and hope to more young people.
