About
Coalición Floresta is a Costa Rican nonprofit foundation established in 2024 to protect the forests, watersheds, and communities of the Brunca Region. Bringing together researchers, field technicians, analysts, and environmental attorneys, the organization defends biodiversity through science-based advocacy, environmental litigation, and land conservation. By challenging illegal development and helping landowners secure long-term conservation incentives, Coalición Floresta works to safeguard critical ecosystems that connect the Talamanca Mountains to Costa Rica’s Pacific coast while supporting sustainable stewardship of private lands.

Current Need
Coalición Floresta is expanding its conservation efforts across Costa Rica’s coastal Brunca Region while strengthening partnerships that protect more forests and watersheds. Continued support helps fund environmental litigation, grow science-based monitoring, increase legal protection for more than 3,000 hectares, and develop new conservation opportunities for private landowners. Donations and skilled volunteers are essential to advancing this work and protecting one of Costa Rica’s most biodiverse regions.
Growing Stronger Every Year
We’re proud to participate in Amigos of Costa Rica’s Transparency Badge System, which evaluates organizations across three key areas: financial stewardship, governance, and community impact.
Organizations are recognized at four levels of growth: Seed, Sprout, Sapling, and Tree, helping donors better understand each organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
