About
Fundación Bosque Vivo is dedicated to restoring and conserving Costa Rica’s ecosystems through reforestation, environmental education, and community engagement. Founded in 2022, the organization works to recover degraded landscapes, protect water sources, and strengthen biodiversity through a growing network of forest nurseries across the country. By combining hands-on conservation with research, training, and educational programs, Fundación Bosque Vivo empowers people of all ages to become active participants in environmental protection. Its work helps create healthier ecosystems while fostering a deeper connection between communities and nature.

Current Need
Fundación Bosque Vivo is working to expand ecosystem restoration and environmental education efforts across its priority regions. In 2026, the organization aims to plant at least 3,000 additional native trees and shrubs, engage more than 1,000 children through environmental education workshops, and welcome over 200 volunteers to conservation activities and training events. Continued support helps strengthen restoration projects, expand environmental learning opportunities, and increase community participation in protecting Costa Rica’s natural ecosystems.
Growing Stronger Every Year
We’re proud to participate in Amigos of Costa Rica’s Transparency Badge System, which evaluates organizations across three key areas: financial stewardship, governance, and community impact.
Organizations are recognized at four levels of growth: Seed, Sprout, Sapling, and Tree, helping donors better understand each organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The badges displayed below reflect our current achievements and our ongoing commitment to strengthening our organization and maximizing our impact.
