Fundación Corcovado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the ecosystems of Costa Rica’s South Pacific region through conservation, environmental education, and community engagement. Since 1992, the organization has worked alongside local communities to promote sustainable development and safeguard the region’s rich biodiversity. Its initiatives focus on environmental education, sea turtle conservation, ecosystem restoration, and nature-based solutions that strengthen local livelihoods. By combining conservation action with community participation, Fundación Corcovado helps create lasting benefits for both people and the environment.

Current Need
Fundación Corcovado is working to expand environmental education, strengthen sea turtle conservation efforts, and support sustainable livelihoods throughout Costa Rica’s South Pacific region. Current priorities include reaching 11 educational centers each month, protecting sea turtle nests through nursery operations, advancing holistic livestock management in Bahía Drake, and implementing participatory wildlife monitoring with camera traps on local farms. Continued support helps protect biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and create sustainable opportunities for local communities.
