About
MareBlu is an environmental conservation foundation based on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, dedicated to protecting oceans through preventive, corrective, and regenerative solutions. Founded in 2018, the organization addresses the growing impact of waste on marine and coastal ecosystems by combining environmental education, plastic recovery, cleanup initiatives, and ecosystem restoration. Through partnerships with schools, businesses, volunteers, and local communities, MareBlu promotes circular economy practices that reduce pollution while creating sustainable opportunities. Its innovative approach helps restore marine habitats, strengthen coastal resilience, and inspire collective action for a healthier ocean.

Current Need
MareBlu is entering a new stage of growth focused on expanding its environmental and community impact along Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Key priorities include launching a Beach Cleanup & Education Center, scaling corporate volunteer programs, establishing a sea turtle hatchery, and creating additional employment opportunities in coastal communities. Support will also help strengthen plastic recovery efforts, grow environmental education programs, and secure the resources needed to advance Action for the Oceans 2027, a global initiative designed to inspire and mobilize ocean conservation worldwide.
