About
Fundación Monkey Park Cultura y Vida Natural, through the APAMI Wildlife Rescue Center, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of Costa Rica’s wildlife while promoting environmental conservation and sustainability. Founded in 2000 as a reforestation and species conservation initiative, the organization expanded its mission to provide care for animals affected by illegal wildlife trafficking, injuries, and habitat loss. Through wildlife rescue, environmental education, volunteer programs, and scientific collaboration, APAMI helps protect biodiversity while empowering communities to become active participants in conservation efforts.

Current Need
APAMI is working to improve wildlife enclosures to better meet the natural needs of the animals under its care while expanding sustainable funding opportunities for long-term conservation efforts. Current priorities include developing birdwatching and beekeeping experiences within the reserve, increasing participation in volunteer and internship programs, and strengthening the sanctuary’s capacity to care for rescued wildlife. Continued support helps improve animal welfare, advance conservation education, and protect Costa Rica’s biodiversity for future generations.
