About
International Animal Rescue Costa Rica (IAR) is dedicated to protecting and conserving wildlife through rescue, rehabilitation, and release programs for animals affected by human-related threats. Operating from its Rescue Center and Sanctuary in Nosara, the organization provides specialized care to injured and displaced wildlife while working to address the root causes of biodiversity loss. Through environmental education, scientific research, and collaboration with communities and public institutions, IAR promotes long-term solutions that reduce threats such as electrocution, habitat fragmentation, and road accidents. Its work helps create safer environments for wildlife across Costa Rica.

Current priorities include securing stable operational funding, increasing wildlife incident reporting, advancing conservation policies, and expanding education and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Continued support will help scale prevention strategies, reduce wildlife electrocutions and other human-related threats, and generate measurable conservation outcomes for biodiversity across Costa Rica.
