About
Nosara Conservation Association (NCA) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that Nosara’s growth goes hand in hand with environmental conservation. Founded in 1975, NCA protects forests, wildlife, water resources, and critical landscapes while bringing together landowners, residents, businesses, and public institutions to develop practical conservation solutions. Through land protection, environmental stewardship, and science-based advocacy, the organization helps preserve the natural ecosystems that sustain both biodiversity and the quality of life in the Nosara community.

Current Need
As Nosara continues to grow, protecting its natural landscapes has never been more important. NCA is expanding protected lands through new conservation agreements, strengthening the voluntary wildlife corridor, launching the Nosara Conservation Fund, and advancing science-based land-use policies that safeguard biodiversity. Growing Stronger Every Year
We’re proud to participate in Amigos of Costa Rica’s Transparency Badge System, which evaluates organizations across three key areas: financial stewardship, governance, and community impact.
Organizations are recognized at four levels of growth: Seed, Sprout, Sapling, and Tree, helping donors better understand each organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
