Animales de Asis

Animal Welfare
Heredia

Animales de Asis is a non-profit, no kill animal sanctuary located in the mountains of Heredia, Costa Rica. We believe all animals deserve love and a home to call their own. We currently house over 200 dogs and cats, providing them with love, medical care, food, protection and eventually a forever home. Many of the dogs we take in are sick or disabled and live permanently at the shelter. Our goal is to ensure they have the highest quality of life possible. With your donation and support, you are helping them to live out a long and happy life!

Our Mission

Our mission is to heal, rehabilitate and find permanent homes for the neglected and abused animals of Costa Rica. We also aim to educate the public on animal welfare and the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

What We Do

We rescue abused, abandoned, sick and injured dogs and cats from the streets of Costa Rica. We take them in and provide medical care, rehabilitation, food, and a shelter until they are healed. We then put them up for adoption so they can live with a forever family. We do not believe in euthanizing animals. Some of our rescues are permanently disabled and live the rest of their days being loved and cared for at the shelter.

Our Animal Shelter

At the rescue center, every animal receives a lot of love, attention, and much needed medical care. We group dogs by various personalities or disabilities and alternate free roaming periods throughout the day so they all get exercise and play time. We do not believe in leaving them in cages all day long.
