Planeta Sano is a school for sustainable living based on our 12-acre estate in Londres de Quepos in Costa Rica. Our other campus opens in Manuel Antonio as our global education hub in October. The site in Manuel Antonio was the former Hotel California, which has all the amenities of a hotel, plus many sites for classes, conferences, yoga, farmers' markets, and other activities that promote sustainable living. We have 3 acres on site and we grow food and run a recycling program and other projects related to sustainable living.
In August we will launch one-day courses, partly in a classroom and partly in practice, aimed at the local population. We plan to market the courses to locals, tourists, and recent investors who have purchased land or houses here in Costa Rica and need to learn how to live sustainably. We offer courses to local people at a greatly reduced rate for volunteering a few hours a month, or as those who simply cannot pay or volunteer.
Our courses cover organic farming, permaculture and reforestation plans and their application, as well as construction with alternative materials, solar and alternative energy, animal-friendly agricultural practices, multiple types of plant medicine courses and many other areas. such as video production and building sustainable communities, leadership and training, and the formation of small sustainable businesses here and around the world.
Our other big project is a sustainable village in Uganda, we are taking a small group of permaculture and sustainable living experts and a film crew to Mbale, a Ugandan village to become sustainable. The plan includes the development of plant-based treatments for malaria, training in permaculture and reforestation, product development, and the move from monoculture farming to a more sustainable, permacultural style of farming.
Our long-term goal is to launch online video courses for use on any mobile phone on the planet. We have a list of courses developed and are working on a website and social media development with the hope of releasing thirty videos in English and 30 in Spanish Currently in late 2022 or early 2023. We are developing a website and a presence on social networks. Our goal is to generate content in the area of education for sustainable living globally and operate from our headquarters in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.
Donations are needed to run the farm as a school, a payroll of three employees, and general support and maintenance of the live and filmed courses. The Africa project needs $100,000 in donations that mainly pay for transportation so that all the resources in Uganda and Kenya work together on the ground and get training. The online school needs $330,000 to launch 30 courses in English and 30 in Spanish. The filming and editing of the courses costs about $2,000 per course and we need a powerful website to distribute it globally. We need several employees or contractors to help develop and maintain the website and social media managers to start marketing the online courses. The donation requested for the courses is expected to support the development of more classes and generate funds for multiple types of content for sustainable living.
