The primary aim of ALTENER (Renewable Energy) is to promote and support the development of renewable energy sources. Currently, this is done by providing and installing solar energy systems for schools, social institutions, other NGOs, and less fortunate individuals of Costa Rica; Repairing damaged solar systems, whose owners can not afford the maintenance costs; and Educating people about the benefits of renewable energy, so that Costa Rica can continue to be the global leader in sustainability. ‍
